KNOW YOURSELF BETTER

Ask these questions to yourself:

  • What do you like?

Take a pen and a diary (or notebook), and write what all you like until present time, and check if you have acquired what you like. Being able to say ‘I like this’ sometimes show who you are. So take sometime to figure out what you like.

Our hobbies say a lot about us. So think how you spend your leisure time ans see what it may say about you.

Making this list might serve as a reminder to prioritise your happiness and well-being.

  • What matters to you a lot?

Write down a list of things you prioritise in life and reflect on why they are so important to you. Find new values that fit in with your present life and work out what really matters to you.

As a child, you might have had different ambitions and goals, but those ambitions might now feel like a pressure looming over you as an adult. If that’s what you want from life even now, then go for it. If not, then reshape your values to fit around who you’re now, not who you were then.

  • What are your plus points?

This is really a big part of who you’re as a person. So take some time and make sure you take yourself seriously.

Success comes in different forms to different people. So make sure that you don’t relate your answer to your work or your wealth. Think about what you do well and what people compliment you on.

Knowing your capacity forms a large part of your identity. So ask yourself, what forms you your best self.

  • What do you admire in others?

In a world of social media, we do constantly compare ourselves and our life style with others. Sometimes the way we see other people may alter from how we see ourselves.

Sometimes we question why the person of my interest, chose someone else, Or why my colleague got the promotion which I wanted.

A part of knowing yourself is letting go of these kind of unhealthy expectations and pressures, and just celebrate the way that you’re. Stop trying to be the person you think what others want you to be and come in terms with who you are at the moment.

  • Do you trust yourself?

At the end of the day, you need to trust yourself, have belief in yourself.

When you come to know about yourself, you shall feel delighted and glad with the choices you make. By questioning yourself and contemplating on what you do with your life, you shall be experimenting the possibility of change.

Either stick to your ways, or try out new healthier choices if you want to. That is the beauty of life.

Never ask these questions to yourself:

  • Is life supposed to be this hard?

If at all you want to ask this question to yourself, once think about people who struggle everyday to get themselves a meal.

Everyone has their own problems in life. It changes day-to-day . So try to tackle your problems and make life better for yourselves, and if possible for others too.

  • Will he/she like me?

Do not try to do what others want expect from you, instead try to do what you want to or what you like, and that shall make your life better.

Never bother if other like you or not. Different people have different taste, and the right person will come to you one day. Be patient.

  • Is it too late to try?

Most of the time we think this. The answer obviously is ‘no’. It is not too late to try.

There are few things which you fully control, but never try to control the number of efforts you give. Instead of asking, ‘is it too late to try?’, try asking ‘how many more efforts needed to see impact?’.

  • How will tomorrow be?

No one will have an answer to this, because life is full of surprises. Each day is a miracle. Try to life the present, rather than worrying about the next day.

  • What if I fail?

Everyone would have heard of this famous proverb, ‘Failure is the stepping stone to success’, and that’s absolutely true. We can’t be right all the time. Mistakes happen. Failure might come, but we should never quit or fall apart. Give your maximum effort, and you shall be glad out of it, in-spite of success or failure.
