Have you been getting everything that your kid asks for?
If your answer is ‘YES’, then you may have to think about it. When you buy all that your kid wants, your kid would grow up without knowing what hardwork means. When a kid gets things easily, how would he/she understand the value of hardwork and money? Not at all!
I’m not telling that you should not get anything your kid wants. Occasional/annual gifts are appreciated of course. But, when a kid doesn’t face denial, a lack of obedience would be witnessed.
All of us wishes to see our kids’ happiness. Teach them that
- Happiness lies within a family
- Happiness lies in giving
- Happiness lies in nature
- Happiness lies in friends
- Happiness lies in hardwork
It’s healthy to say ‘NO’ to your kids without hurting their feelings. Teach them success, not arrogance.
